IMPORTANT SIZING INFORMATION!
Measure your dog carefully before ordering.
The size of the broadest part of your dogs head must be considered as half check collars need to pass over the dogs head when fitting. The half check dog collar is fully adjustable and can be reduced in size once over the head if prefered.
Remember as with all collars to leave enough room to insert two fingers between the collar and dogs neck. This ensures the collar is not too tight on the dog and also allows you to take hold of the dog by the collar quickly when required.

Materials used for strength
Extremely robust, hardwearing and weatherproof.
The strong and durable nylon section is soft to handle and kinder on your dog than a full check chain by reducing the overall weight and area of chain in contact with their neck.
The chrome plated steel chain section is extremely robust with essential welded links that will not part like other split links. This provides extra strength and security whilst also preventing fur becoming trapped between the normal split links found in other chains.
Adjustable to fit all sizes of dog
The Ancol range of Nylon Half Check Dog Collars is extremely adjustable providing collar sizes from the smallest breeds to the largest.
The collar is designed to slip over the dogs head and slip down over the neck. This provides a comfortable fit until the dog pulls on the lead at which point the collar will tighten uncomfortably on the dog to stop them pulling.
How do Half Check Chains work?
Half checks are very simple to use and less harsh than full check chains.
The chain section of the collar is in the form of a running loop that will tighten uncomfortably if the dog pulls on the lead.
The extent that the collar can tighten is limited by the fixed nylon section of the collar. This prevents the collar over-tightening and hurting the dog yet causes enough discomfort to remind the dog that pulling is not a good idea.
With regular use and training the dog will recognise and should respond to a short jolt on the lead by the owner. The dog recognises this from a combination of the collar tightening slightly and the sound made by the chain. The dog will recognise through previous experience that these two things indicate they should stop pulling.
A great advantage of the half check over the full check chain is the dog is protected from any injury that may occur by the latter being suddenly over-tightened .
